Tips for installation
- Always make sure you work level.
- Always make sure you work square.
- Follow the instructions according to assembly guidelines, but also check continuously as errors early on can cause additional work later.
- When installing the roof and / or floor make sure that the boards are not pushed too tight together, allow a penny thickness between the boards for expansion.
- For a shingled roof please also consult the description on the shingle packages.
- Shingles should always be placed with the notches pointing down, with the exception of the first layer. The first row of shingles must be placed upside-down, with the notches pointing up.
- Nail the shingles approx. 5 cm above the notches. Shingles should project approx. 1,5 cm over the facia.
- Floors should never be placed too tight to the walls. Always keep a distance of approx. 1,5 cm from the walls. With most buildings a skirting board is included. This skirting board must be fixed to the wall and not to the floor.
- Mouldings above the windows and doors should not be fixed to the walls, but to the frames, this is to allow the wall to expand & contract without restriction.
- When fixing items internal for example light switches sockets and trunking, please make allowances for the buildings natural movement, failure to do this could result in a distortion of the building and gaps may appear in the wall and force doors and windows not to work correctly.
- Basically you do not have to saw any part. In case you think sawing will be required please contact your dealer or Lugarde.
