Three delicious recipes for a winter BBQ in your log cabin!

Winter is here! Wouldn’t it be nice to organise a winter barbecue for your family and friends? Just imagine the delicious smell, a cup of mulled wine and a selection of winter snacks – what could be nicer? Surprise your family and friends with a fun winter adventure in your own garden. To throw a perfect winter BBQ in your log cabin, you need to think of a number of things. For example, how you can decorate your log cabin and garden to create the perfect atmosphere – hang fairy lights, prepare a fire pit and choose the music. Remember to warn your guests to dress warmly!

Mexican chicken skewers (serves 6)

Ingredients

  • 350 grams of chicken breast
  • 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 6 baby corns
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika powder
  • Pepper and salt
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  •  bell pepper

Directions

Cut the chicken into pieces and add the cayenne pepper, cumin, paprika powder, pepper and salt. Cut the bell pepper into pieces and the mini corn in half. Thread the corn, bell peppers and chicken onto the skewer. Grill the chicken skewers. Serve with salsa or guacamole.

American style burgers (serves 4)

Ingredients

  • 500 grams minced beef
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 egg
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Red onion
  • Lettuce
  • Pickle slices
  • Half a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 slices of Cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices of bacon

Directions

Mix the minced beef with the egg and breadcrumbs, add the onion slices, pepper, salt and Worcestershire sauce. Form the meat into four burgers. Grill the burgers and bacon. Cut the hamburger buns in half, add lettuce, the burger and a slice of cheddar cheese on top of it. Finally, add a slice of bacon, rings of red onion and pickle slices.

Fish skewers (6 servings)

Ingredients

  • 250 grams cod fillets
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • 2 lemons
  • Pepper and salt

Directions

Cut the fish into pieces. Cut the lemon into slices, season the fish with lemon juice, pepper and salt. Thread the fish, lemon and cherry tomatoes onto the skewers.
